I came across the Tutu Project today, just moments after meeting a woman who had recently beaten breast cancer. It touched me. Deeply. The charity is American, but the sentiment is Global. In 2003 photographer Bob Carey's wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, so he did what any good husband would do....he put on a pink tutu!
Carey has worn the symbolic pink tutu across the globe, from the New York City Metropolitan Opera House to Germany. His goal was to make his wife smile, but he's done so much more! The Tutu project has become a symbol of hope. Proceeds raised go to The Carey Foundation, established in 2012 by survivor Linda Carey to aid in supporting women and their families that need financial support during their breast cancer journey. Visit www.thetutuproject.com to view Carey's inspiring, hilarious and wonderful photos.
