You, yes YOU! Have you told yourself how fabulous you are today?
You are smart, kind and thoughtful. You are strong, caring and important. You are perfectly imperfect. Your body is your temple and you are a goddess, a khaleesi in your own right.
Body positivity is a frame of mind. Before you can love your body you need to learn to love yourself. In a world where Photoshop can help you lose a stone (no diet or excersise required!) in less time than it takes to tie your shoes, it has become easy to have unrealistic expectations often leading to a distorted body image.
While there is no doubt that a healthy diet and reglaur exercise are an important foundation to health & wellness, a positive outlook is KEY to having a favourable perception of oneself. A little bit of positivity goes a long way!
Modern technology allows us to take 25 selfies before we find the *perfect* angle and image to share on social media with our friends and family. Editing apps allow us to remove blemishes and apply makeup with the touch of a screen. Our lives and online identities have become so heavily edited that as a society we have forgotten what real women look like. We have forgotten that it's what's on the inside that matters most.
Real women are mothers, wives and breast cancer survivors. Real women have cellulite, wrinkles and scars. Real women are chubby and thin, short and tall. We are ALL real women and we are beautifully unique.
