Spring Summer 2017 embraces makeup trends from one extreme to the next.
A fresh bare faced look with a radiant and youthful glow tops the charts. It's time to toss the pressed powder and replace it with a light, moisturizing foundation. Glossy highlights on the cheek bones, bridge of the nose and cupids bow will create a young and dewy complexion.
Blush is back. Strobing, a highlighting technique, replaces the traditional apple of your cheek application creating a fresh faced look this Spring. Colour palates range from vivid reds and magenta to soft pastel coral and pretty pinks.
The classic smokey eye returns with a simplified twist. Perfect lines are replaced by smudged pencil and dark shadow to create a perfectly imperfect eye. This look works best with a barely there cheek and lip pallet, allowing the bold, sexy eyes to take center stage. A fresh twist on this classic look is the addition of a neutral shadow to the dark, smokey liner. Apricot, gold and bronze shadow finished with a smudge of eye gloss ( tip: you can use petroleum jelly to save pennies!) creates a sultry, sun kissed style that compliments the bare faced feel of Spring 2017.
If colourful shadows are what you fancy, choose a bold shade of blue, purple, pink or gold. These bright peacock eyes are created by applying the shadow in geometric lines with vivid stripes of colour swept across the entire eyelid.
Up your game with glitter! Glitter is HUGE this season and you'll find it everywhere from eyes to lips. To keep this look fresh make sure that glitter is only used on one feature (eyes/lips) and use a neutral palate on the rest of the face. With glitter a little goes a long way. Who doesn't love a bit of sparkle?
